Oh Wow 2017 is well underway. We anticipated the beginning of the new year weeks or months prior, as we are so excited to see what it could bring us. Now we are in full swing.

I’m not sure about you but I’m so excited for what 2017 will bring. I have no idea how it’s going to unfold but one thing I do know is that I will do everything I can to make it the best year yet. I will ensure it is exciting, loving, rewarding and most importantly inspiring.

At the beginning of every year I always spend time thinking in great depth about what I want to accomplish. I then set goals…. My goals vary from the usual health and fitness to personal self-growth, relationships, career and travel. My goals are important to me, and no one else. I know that when I endeavour to accomplish these goals I will be challenged. Then once achieving them I feel energised, proud of myself, loved and genially happy.

Why set goals, what is the purpose of it? Goals give us focus. They allow us to dream big, whilst thinking hard about what is important to us, what makes us happy and what inspires us.

Vision Board

Vision boards or also referred to as Mood Boards are an extremely effective way to accomplish those goals for 2017. Vision boards are a powerful tool to create a clear specific vision. The clearer you are on what you want to accomplish the easier it is to achieve it. Regularly sighting your board will also assist you with maintaining focus and achieving your goals quicker.

How to set goals.

Goals are individualised. You need to spend time thinking long and hard about what this year means to you. What will inspire you to grow and live the most fulfilling year. You may start off very broad and then slowly narrow it down. This may take a few weeks. Once the list is created, the fun begins. You’re in full motion of achieving your personal goals for the year. Don’t be afraid to think big! Be realistic to yourself, ensure the goals mean enough to you that you will do everything you can to accomplish it. Be clear so that you can visualise yourself achieving the goal whilst ensuring you allow yourself enough time.

Segregating your goals into steps is extremely effective.
